An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a significant role in protecting the area from flooding.
Climate Change is the biggest risk we face. We are planning for future flood scenarios including a 4ºC rise in global temperature and are working with government, local councils, businesses, and communities to make our environment a better place for people and wildlife.

The Role:-
Leading a team with a range of skills that contribute to delivery of work programmes that ensure our assets are performing at their best.
Taking a risk based approach in modernising asset management, considering the whole life cycle to reduce flood risk to communities.
Promoting and reinforcing the Environment Agency’s vision and culture.
Empowering team members to achieve their potential.
Being visible and available to provide guidance and wellbeing support particularly through change.
Building relationships, internally and externally and managing the team budgets. This includes forecasting, identifying risk to spend, efficiency savings and ensuring financial targets are met.
Managing Health, Safety and Wellbeing of team members, while ensuring that training is received and competencies are maintained to carry out asset and incident management activities.
Undertaking the role of Responsible Officer, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety, security and environmental control.

Based in our Lincoln office your multidisciplinary team with a varied range of technical, engineering and construction skills, will support all stages of the asset lifecycle, from planning new assets to decommissioning. Contributing to the development of asset maintenance and repair programmes through intelligent client and senior user roles. Inspecting assets through visual and detailed assessment, and developing work programmes through collaboration with other teams.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual:-
With strong leadership skills or Asset Management experience with the ability to drive forward our area priorities, build strong relationships with external and internal partners, and lead and develop our Asset Performance team. You’ll be supported by your Catchment Leads and other technical leaders to deliver the outcomes of the role.
You will have the skills and knowledge necessary to lead a team and provide clear direction, instruction and guidance through effective performance management. The ability to recognise strengths, vulnerabilities and motivations within a team. Inspiring skills development and embedding organisational change.
Have strong budget management skills or a track record of asset management, with an understanding of engineering and construction principles.
A relevant degree (or similar) and a professional qualification such as Institute of Asset Management Certificate or Incorporated / Chartered status is beneficial but not essential.
