About the Role

The Living Murray Program Manager leads the TLM program delivery and environmental services business.

The role:

  • implements a strategic approach to use of research and monitoring funding;
  • oversees robust procurement and contract management to ensure best value from external service providers;
  • oversees strategic and consistent community engagement and local media exposure; and
  • coordinates delivery of an integrated, multi-year Indigenous engagement program.

Emerging challenges include removing barriers to delivery of environmental water to our red gum forests and driving delivery of Basin Plan funds for mitigation of third-party impacts associated with forest watering. Your success will ensure the recovery of our iconic river red gum forests.

The role will be office based, with occasional field trips aimed at educating and influencing stakeholders.

The role supervises two direct reports and works with a large network of external government colleagues.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role is strategic and collaborative and can develop creative solutions to complex Natural Resource Management problems. You are influential and can communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science or natural resource management;
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills;
  • Knowledge and understanding of floodplain forest management and associated water management issues would advantageous;
  • Ability to co-ordinate diverse programs and manage competing priorities;
  • Demonstrated experience in leafing teams and achieving desired outcomes;
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management;
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in financial management;
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
