arche noVa – initiative for people in need is a religiously independent non-profit- and non-governmental organisation (NGO) from Dresden/Germany working primarily in the field of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development. Our primary focus is Water and Sanitation.

The organisation is a member of alliance Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), arche noVa bears the donation seal of the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) since 1996.

arche noVa is implementing projects for IDPs and host communities in Kurdistan and Diyala regions of Iraq since September 2013. For the implementation and coordination of arche noVa relief measures in thesectors of WASH and basic health in northern Iraq we are looking for a

Finance and Administration Manager

The responsibilities of the Finance and Administration Manager include accountancy, budget management, administration and communication as well as supporting the Head of Mission in other tasks including program coordination and representation.

Starting date: As soon as possible


  • Assure arche noVa´s financial procedures are in compliance with donor regulations
  • Timely preparation of financial reports for donors and headquarters
  • Manage bank accounts, money transfers and maintain good cash flow
  • Prepare/support of project budgets, budget revisions and extensions
  • Monitoring of budgets
  • Supervise and train the local finance/admin staff
  • Donor communication and reporting on financial issues
  • Support and follow-up contractual engagements (rental, vehicles MoUs, registration) in coordination with Head of Mission
  • Support Head of Mission in program manager all other tasks


  • A relevant College or University degree and/or a relevant special vocational training
  • Minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience in accounting, financial management in the field of humanitarian aid/development cooperation
  • Minimum of 2 years experience of working overseas, preferably in the middle East or in the context of another protracted crisis
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in German is an asset for donor reporting
  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish would be an asset
  • Experience in writing project proposals incl. budget and monitoring of projects is an asset
  • Ability to work in a team and with partners
  • Improvisation skills
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
