UK Graduate Civil Engineer (Water Team)

Mott MacDonald

Reading, , GB

Job Description

At Mott MacDonald, we are passionate about providing solutions that help our clients to achieve a sustainable approach to growth, balancing environmental and societal needs. The availability of water, and the provision of adequate sewerage disposal, are vital to meet the ever-growing demands of development, population growth and climate change.

Our Reading team is primarily focused on supporting Thames Water, with whom we have a long-standing and highly successful relationship. We continue to provide them with vital services across a range of frameworks, from Developer Services and Strategic Growth to major stand-alone projects such as their Water Resource Management Plan. We also support their Major Projects and Operations teams, providing solutions to improve their wastewater treatment works, including two of the largest treatment works in London. Beyond Thames, we are also expanding our international focus – supporting pipelines projects in Africa, Asia and Europe.

As a graduate in our Reading team, you’ll join an innovative and motivated team of engineers, preparing outline and detailed civil engineering designs, producing technical and commercial specifications, drawings and schedules, working in close partnership with clients and contractors. We will support you as you develop your technical and project management skills, delivering designs for multi-disciplinary water or wastewater schemes. You might work with our pipelines and networks teams, or tackle trunk mains leakage problems. There are also opportunities to undertake hydraulic modelling. Perhaps you’ll work with our team of asset management specialists looking at strategies to provide water across the Thames region into the future, or with our major projects teams on large wastewater treatment works. There are a range of opportunities available.  In terms of career progression, we offer development in technical, management or commercial/client-facing directions, or a combination thereof – ensuring you get the experience you need to achieve your chosen professional qualification.
