Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the title of Programme Manager) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 499645), to commence as soon as possible, on a fixed-term basis, until August 31, 2022.
Applicants will work in the Jockey Club Water Initiative on Sustainability and Engagement (JC-WISE) Project under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The project aims at raising the public’s awareness, and appreciation, of the importance of attaining long-term water sustainability goals for Hong Kong.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in a Social Sciences discipline. They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putongua). Those with a good track record in conducting research and public education projects relating to water resources policy and/or management issues are preferred. The appointee is expected to work closely with the project’s Principal Investigator to manage and coordinate all aspects of the project’s operations. He/She will assist in overseeing programme development, monitoring, implementation, preparation of evidence-based professional documentation in relation to programme impact assessment.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
