Salary: $53,785 (Step 01) to $69,922 (Step 10);
NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.

As a Hydrologist within the New York Water Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Plans, conducts, and reports on assigned parts of scientific interpretive studies
- Collects and analyzes scientific data relating to water quality, soil chemistry, aquatic biology or surface water
- Participates in scientific studies of considerable scope and complexity, or conducts projects that are more limited in nature
- Maintains awareness and understanding of the latest state of the art techniques and instrumentation
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Requires frequent physical exertion to include walking over rough and/or uneven terrain, lifting equipment and supplies in all types of weather. The work of this position involves some risk when conducting daily assessment operations and moderate discomfort from inclement weather.
