The Role

The Gender Justice and Social Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for providing technical support in developing and implementing of the gender justice and social inclusion thematic programme in line with the overall Oxfam Strategic Plan, program, Gender thematic strategies and Programming guidelines.

S/he will provide technical and methodological support to Oxfam Bangladesh Country programmes in gender mainstreaming and transformative leadership.  S/he shall proactively support to develop new concept note, designing and implementing projects, managing partnership, alliance building and advocacy initiatives.

One of the key focus of this role will be proactively contributing in resource mobilisation. S/he will support to design new business model for Gender Justice and Social Inclusion Programme in collaboration with the Business Development and Program Quality team, to identify new funding sources and generate concept notes and proposals in line with the gender thematic strategies.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a competent person to provide technical support to Oxfam in Bangladesh’s Climate Justice & Natural Resources Rights portfolio which is at the centre of all programmes and projects as well as to position Oxfam as an expert organization in the arena of climate justice & natural resources at the national level.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required

Educational Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in environmental sciences, environmental management, environmental economics, environmental engineering, geography and environment, climate change and development, development studies or a closely related field, preferably in water resources engineering, economics, political science.

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • At least 5 years of working experience on implementing Climate Justice and Natural Resources Rights programmes, initiatives and campaigns at national and international NGOs or relevant organisations;
  • Specialist knowledge of gender equality, the rights of women and girls and engaging men and boys in gender equality in theory and in practice in development and humanitarian context;
  • Extensive experience of working with gender mainstreaming in development programming including programme development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation;
  • Experience on generating new project ideas in line with contemporary issues, designing projects, and resource mobilisation;
  • Demonstrable people and budget management skills;
  • Good communication, facilitation and representation skills.

Desirable

  • Clear knowledge and understanding about the national and international process of women’s movement, protocols, instruments which preserving and protecting women rights and entitlements;
  • Ability to build effective relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and different levels of seniority;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically and see and act upon opportunities and build network and partnerships;
