Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Hydraulics and Water Engineering

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Hydraulics and Water Engineering within UCD School of Civil Engineering.

This is a 5-year position. The School of Civil Engineering is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes. The School is home to two research centres: the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Research and the Centre for Water Resources Research. The successful appointee will have ample opportunity to develop their own research agenda in these areas.

The School has recently launched a new undergraduate dual degree programme in Civil Engineering and Infrastructure, with Chang’an University, in Xi’an, China. The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of this programme and will spend a trimester teaching in Chang’an University each year. The School will provide the successful candidate with funding to support a PhD student stipend for a four-year period, on commencement of the post.

  • a 2-page research statement, outlining their 3-year research plan;
  • a 2-page teaching statement, outlining their planned approach to teaching and module development.

95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above The Bar Salary: €53,773 – €84,544 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
