Job Summary
The Jal Bhagirathi Foundation is implementing community driven water resource management projects in Rajasthan.
JBF is looking for a Chief Project Leader, to be able to take primary responsibility for daily project management – both organizational and general management– budgeting, planning and monitoring of all the projects;
Our work environment is challenging and tough but at all times rewarding. The main  part of the job includes field implementation challenges to make a make a visible difference to the drinking water crises in the villages. It is essential the Chief Project Leader is a Team Leader, understands developing & execution of management systems and training, capacity building of his team.
The impact of our work has made us a member of key water-related forums at state and international levels. We are India’s first and only Governor on the Board of the World Water Council which is the largest global water forum.
Job Description
The Chief Project Leader will lead the entire team of project staff, field workers and community volunteers in the organization. He/she will supervise the project staff, and field teams to implement project activities that address solutions for drinking water crises and sanitation. He/she will work with a project team at the grassroots level to supervise water structures constructed by village communities.
Specific tasks of the Chief Project Leader include
  1. Responsible for the management and supervision of all project activities and assuming full responsibility for delivery of project outputs.
  2. Assume primary responsibility for daily project management – both organizational and substantive matters – budgeting, planning and general monitoring of the project;
  3. Ensure collection of relevant data necessary for pre and post project requirements.
  4. Assume overall responsibility for reporting on project progress vis-à-vis indicators in the log-frame;
  5. Assume overall responsibility for timely reporting to the donor on project progress through donor reports and case studies.
  6. Organising and participate as faculty in staff training and beneficiary trainings on a regular monthly/weekly basis.
  7. Responding to any project-related demands that fall within the ambit of the position
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in Management, with fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English and if he/she is from the development sector, he/she will be required to have field experience of at least 15-20 years in grass-root project management in rural areas in an NGO is very essential. If the candidate is from the private sector background, he/she should have 15-20 years field experience which required independent management of teams not less than 100 people. The candidate should be in the age group of 40 to 50 years, physically fit and willing to spend 15 to 20 days on field visits in very hot climates and rough terrain. He/she should be able to inspire the team by personal example.
Candidates with less than required experience will not be considered for this position.
Annual Remuneration may be up to Rs. 14 lacs to 16 lacs depending on the evaluation at the time of interview with enormous opportunities for individual career growth.
