We are looking for an enthusiastic principal consultant with experience in water resource and/or sustainability projects in a commercial environment to join the Water & Environment consulting team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate would need to be flexible in their working approach, show an aptitude for business development, have a willingness to travel and be keen to learn about the bottled water and beverage industries worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to implement a range of consultancy skills and to gain an insight into this highly technical field through working with a global leader in the sector.

JOB SUMMARY

· Key business development role within the team, developing work from new and existing clients

· Managing project team and mentoring junior staff

· Project and financial management and accountability on a range of existing projects

· Provide expert technical role within projects, including fieldwork and office work

· Reporting to senior management on project progress and accounting

· Direct client liaison, attending technical meetings and contractor supervision and negotiation

DEPARTMENT DIMENSIONS

The department consists of a team of hydrogeologists and water resources experts

Focus is water resources development and protection, primarily within the bottled water and other beverage sectors all over the world

Responsible for maintaining the delivery of high quality projects to clients in groundwater resources development

CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

· MSc qualified in water resources, sustainability or similar subject

· Proven experience in business development in a commercial environment

· Proven technical report writing skills

· Excellent project management skills

· Able to work effectively as part of a team and with enthusiasm

· An excellent communicator

· Excellent written and spoken English

· Be able to use initiative and be proactive regarding development of project opportunities

· Willingness to undertake travel, both in the UK and abroad

· A current driving licence

THE CONDITIONS

· Permanent, full-time position

· Hours 37.5 per week Monday to Friday

· The notice period will be two months on either side
