This is a Water Resource Specialist – Education position within the Water Resources Section of the Public Works Department. Spokane County’s Water Resources education team is a leader in water resource education within the County. This position will be an integral team member in delivering education programs at the Water Resource Center in Spokane and the Doris Morrison Learning Center at Saltese Flats Wetland, as well as in classrooms and at community events. This position includes the development and delivery of environmental education and outreach materials to a broad range of age groups, as well as the design and preparation of lessons and materials aligning with Next Generation Science Standards. Applicants should be reliable, outgoing, organized, enjoy teaching and be able to communicate clearly. A passion for understanding and communicating environmental issues is a plus. Prior formal or informal K-12 teaching experience strongly preferred.
