DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a technical position within the Bureau of Clean Water’s Data Management Section that supports the statewide Clean Water Program.  In this position you develop and interpret regulations, policies, technical guidance, and permits to achieve data management and compliance objectives in the Bureau’s environmental programs. You will act as a liaison between Field Operations, Central Office, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the regulated community, and the public for all areas of data reporting and management and evaluating conformance with procedures, guidance, grants, and state and federal regulations. Data processing is an important segment of this position’s responsibilities, including the application of quality assurance methodologies and the analysis and interpretation of data.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
