The Jacobs Returnship program has been designed for talented professionals looking to REFRESH SKILLS, REBUILD CONFIDENCE and REIGNITE CAREERS after an extended career break and absence from the workforce. This is paid, 16-week initiative with intent to transition our returners to permanent placement. As diverse as our business is, as are the opportunities we have available. Our cohort of Returnship participants will join multidisciplinary teams across a variety of divisions.
Your Focus:
- Support on water/ recycled water infrastructure modelling and engineering
- Develop base models, collaborate with onsite teams for model input data, operational details
- Demand/ load assessment, land-use analysis, future network planning and optioneering in integration with existing infrastructure and proposed infrastructure. Carry out life cycle cost analysis for proposed options
- Utility corridor planning and design
- Hydraulic modelling and design of future network, preparation of phasing plan and capital investment plan
- Provide input to Designers / Draftsmen for preparation of drawings, review/check the drawings and guide the designers/draftsmen
As a participant, you will:
- Experience 16 weeks of on the job learning and exploration with a diverse community of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
- Access the vast network of resources at Jacobs through continual leadership development, support and mentorship from our dedicated Returnship program team
- Be confident that you will receive ongoing support and mentorship and support as you navigate the transition with us to permanent employment
- Be a part of our Returnship cohort community participating in regular focus group feedback session and social events to facilitate a seamless transition as you return to the workforce
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- You will have a degree (or higher), with a numeric focus preferably in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engieering
- You have had a career break of at least 1 year
- You are interested in returning to work on a permanent basis (both part time and full-time options available)
- You have at least five years of relevant post graduate professional experience
- You are driven and thrive in a collaborative team
- You are available to start the Returnship program in April 2023
