Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an Construction Groundwater Lead & Water Specialist to join our team based in Coleshill, Coventry

What you’ll be doing

As an Construction Groundwater Lead & Water Specialist you’ll be working alongside our Environmental team helping to deliver the biggest civils infrastructure project in the UK.

Some of the duties you will have include:

• Helps develop robust and comprehensive WFRMP and any Groundwater design deliverables to deal with environmental risks, CRTs, U&As, Technical Standards, UK best practices working collaboratively with the whole project team in order to achieve EMR Compliance and L3 Certification.

• Accountable for fit for purpose Groundwater and WFRMP design methodologies and assumptions that can withstand external scrutiny.

• Review of design deliverables related to Groundwater & WFRMP (GWRA, DGWRA, Piling Risk Assessment, Monitoring requirement, Dewatering design reports)

• Management, coordination and assurance of groundwater compliance during the construction stage (temporary works) and assurance of groundwater compliance for the permanent design.

The ideal candidate for the role would have the below:

• Member of an environmental/water professional body

• A sound understanding of hydrogeology, temporary dewatering process and design, artificial recharge, borehole drilling, permeability/hydraulic tests water monitoring designs and, water resource and management plans design on major infrastructure schemes;

• Experienced with dealing with Environmental Agency, water companies and LA on such issues;

• Experienced with groundwater consent applications and pre-engagement with Statutory bodies;

• Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the project

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skills
