Posting Summary | Conduct integrated research and related comprehensive educational programs in the areas of agricultural water quality and soil health. Plan, implement, and manage research projects and programs that inform the local farming community, agency personnel, and other stakeholders in the areas of water quality, agricultural hydrology, and soil health. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three to five years related work experience in applied field-based environmental and/or agricultural research to include a basic understanding of experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, and management and operation of scientific field instrumentation required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required to work with researchers, farmers and the general public. Writing skills and proficiency in the use of computers and other electronic technologies required. |
Desirable Qualifications | Experience coordinating with government agencies, business, researchers, and farmer organizations preferred. Knowledge of environmental issues and agricultural water quality regulations desirable. |
Other Information | Hybrid position – remote and when in office will share workspace with team member. Position located in Extension Middlebury Office.4 month probationary period required. Non-standard work hours may be necessary in order to respond in a timely manner to some hydrologic events. |
Special Conditions | Position located in different city, Non-standard work hours required, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Contingent on continued funding, Travel to and from worksites required, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy |
