Job Chart of Advocacy Coordinator:

  • Established communication framework and strategy for the state with the support of UNICEF
  • Communication strategy disseminated to all the levels upto GP functionaries
  • Situation analysis on ODF plus status is conducted using secondary and primary data shared study findings and recommendations widely with the support of technical consultants
  • Impact evaluation of ODG plus GPs is conducted using secondary and primary data shared study findings and recommendations widely with the support of technical consultants
  • Task managed development of policies and guidelines on WASH in discussion with the State
  • Developed Communication Material for WASH with the support of district and State consultants
  • Developed SOP or guidelines for implementation of Communication strategy across all GPs
  • Quarterly State and district reports on implementation of communication strategy Shared monthly feedback and field visit reports with PD, SSBM-G
  • Any other deliverable as decided by PD, SSBM-G

Key tasks:

  • Develop ToR for undertaking systematic situation analysis of ODF plus status in the state
  • Lead State level planning workshops
  • Prepare and roll out communication strategy for the State by assessing status and developing strategies 
  • Lead State level review workshop on IEC
  • Review and support in development of IEC material
  • Assist State mechanism in development of App based SWM monitoring framework
  • Assist state in conducting regular review cum planning meetings
  • Monitor the implementation of communication strategy by carrying out field visits and coordinating with State mechanism
  • Develop ToR for undertaking impact evaluation of ODF plus GPs
  • Assist and handhold State, District stakeholders in preparing case studies and best practices
  • Undertake any other task as decided by PD, SSBM-G

Supervision: The Project Director, SSBM (G) Hyderabad, Telangana.

Official travel Required:

As per the work demand; subjected to a minimum of 10 days in a month.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-graduation in Sociology, Public Policy, Development Studies or any related field.
  • 8-10 years of professional experience with high specialization in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sector  out of which 3-5 years of experience in government advocacy and policy
  • 3-5 years of experience of working with WASH related policies and programmes
  • Excellent conceptualization, data analysis and presentations
  • Previous experience with a Govt agencies/multilateral or international/UN organization is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Telugu would be essential for this assignment
  • Have a good understanding on various social media outlets
  • Willing to frequent travel to Districts/ULBs and to other states if necessary for any urgent priority program (Workshop/Meeting/Conference etc.)
