About the Role: This role is in the Gender, Water and Climate Change (GWCC) Department of CSR as the Senior Project Coordinator and will report to the Head of the Department (HOD). The Senior Project Coordinator will primarily be responsible for coordination of grass-roots project activities, particularly handling implementation of water conservation and infrastructure projects at project sites in Rajasthan.  Regular travel will be required for project responsibilities. The role entails program implementation and management, facilitating and conducting environmental trainings, communicating regularly with project partners, and enabling ground-level execution of infrastructure development. The successful candidate will need to have an interest and aptitude for management, holding technical discussions in water conservation, in addition to experience in organizing environmental trainings. Understanding of and experience in environmental capacity building programs is preferred.

Project Background for Gender, water, and climate change department (GWCC):  CSR promotes women’s active participation in governance and management of natural resources, given the increasing impact of climate change. We partner with like-minded agencies and sponsors to pursue climate change mitigation. Our projects focus on a bottom-up approach in which our grassroots-level interventions build the capacities of women leaders at the village-level to become agents of change in their communities. We support these leaders to create local water conservation plans and improve local infrastructure to improve groundwater resources.

 Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Preparing training modules, facilitating, and implementing training sessions and workshops
  • Coordinating grassroots level project activities with frequent travel to the field areas
  • Oversight of planning and execution of local environmental infrastructure
  • Writing Reports and making accounts submissions.
  • Maintaining systematic communication with the sponsors on progress of the project(s).
  • Demonstrating experience and skills in preparing project proposals and supporting project fundraising.

Qualifications and prerequisites:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in social work/rural development/environmental science. Related field with clear focus on environmental social programming.
  • A minimum 4-5 years of experience of working as a project coordinator in the development sector, preferably in role related to environmental management or water conservation
  • Demonstrated understanding of inclusive development, gender mainstreaming, and commitment to women’s human right
  • Experience executing environmental trainings,
  • Strong writing skills with experience in formal reporting and funder communications.  Any proposal development experience is a plus
  • Strong administrative, organization, communication, and IT skills to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Willingness to travel for field visits (20% time) and ability to work flexibly, as per project schedules.
