The Victorian Environmental Water Holder (VEWH) is currently seeking a Project Officer, Governance.

The VEWH is an independent statutory body responsible for managing Victoria’s environmental water entitlements, in cooperation with partners, to improve the environmental health of rivers, wetlands and floodplains.

The Project Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the VEWH’s business, risk, financial and governance functions.

As a member of the Governance team, the role will contribute to business planning, project management, risk management, progress reporting, auditing processes, financial management and organisational culture. The role supports the VEWH’s independent external Risk and Audit Committee (RAC) and provides secretariat support to the VEWH Commission.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Governance, this role will suit someone with experience in public service governance and will work closely with their colleagues to promote and support governance activities.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent accreditation or working/industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in administration, government, or project management would be an advantage.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
