The Environmental Water Management team in the Water Planning Implementation Branch is seeking two Senior Water Resource Officers. The team is responsible for implementing and improving environmental water reforms across NSW and works closely with state and federal partner agencies.

About you

As a Senior Water Resource Officer, you will lead complex investigations and develop solutions that maximise the beneficial outcomes of water for the environment. This will require knowledge and experience in the areas of hydrology, water resource management and relevant government policies and plans.

The two roles have different focusses and fixed terms:

  • Role 1 – hydrology and environmental engineering focus, fixed-term until 30 June 2024
  • Role 2 – project management and policy focus, fixed-term until 30 March 2024.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science, ecology or a related discipline
  • A track record in delivering hydrologic/environmental engineering studies or complex projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of state and federal natural resource management frameworks, especially in relation to water resource management.
