As a Water Program Specialist, you will provide technical and administrative support for implementation of Chesapeake Bay watershed policy, planning, and management programs across the Water Programs Deputate. You will perform a variety of advanced professional work supporting the implementation of the Chesapeake Bay program in the Central Office of the Department of Environmental Protection. Your duties emphasize development and implementation of Chesapeake Bay policies and directives across the Water Programs Deputate. Your work focuses on continuously providing a broad range of complex programmatic support for the implementation of an integrated basin-wide water program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.  
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:    

  • Three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
