About the Role:

The Senior Scientific Officer provides professional ecological advice and services to inform environmental decision-making in South Australia. The role requires the ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships both within and outside the Agency, to coordinate and deliver discrete ecology-focussed projects and tasks to inform planning, implementation and management.  In particular, the role will assist with the technical delivery of outputs associated with Agency priority projects and programs, including those related to freshwater, River Murray and Coorong science. It requires a sound and broad understanding of applied ecology in a River Murray and Coorong context and technical skills to support program delivery.

Contract for up to 30 June 2023

Essential Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in environment, conservation or a related NRM discipline is required.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties
  • A current driver’s licence is essential, along with a willingness to undertake four-wheel-drive training.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.

PO3  $98,313 min – $103,936 max p.a.
