The Position

The Australian Nation University Institute for Water Futures (IWF) and the Research School of Earth Sciences (RSES) seek an established advanced early- or mid-career researcher with proven expertise in the area of application and modelling of water resources. The successful candidate will be working embedded in the Research School of Earth Sciences and build an excellent research program that will include the development of capability to exploit remote sensing satellite missions to study changes in water resources on Earth. They will have a passion for teaching and advising students and collaborate with ANU colleagues and external national and international research partners to effectively respond to real-world water challenges facing Australia and the Asia and Pacific regions.

The Person

To excel in this role you will have an established research program and a compelling vision for your research at the ANU in alignment with the IWF and RSES strategic goals  and the ANU 2025 strategic plan. Your ability to lead by example, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels, both within RSES and with interdisciplinary colleagues at IWF in line with the RSES Culture Statement and IWF strategic plan.
