The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Water Quality Program is recruiting a Lake and River Team Leader.  This position may be stationed at other DNR locations based on space availablity.

Position Summary

This position leads teams and work groups in the formulation, determination and implementation of Lake and River Management Program policies, rules, and program guidance.  Direct and manage Wisconsin’s Surface Water Grant programs. Report directly to the Lakes and Rivers Section Chief in the Bureau of Water Quality. Formulate, determine, and implement statewide Lake and River Program work planning, project management and reporting, staff training and development, and program reviews.

Salary Information

Starting pay is $36.00 – $41.78 per hour ($74,880 – $86,902 annually).

Pay on appointment for current or former state employees is based on the State Compensation Plan. 

This position is in Pay Schedule/Range 15-03.

Job Details

Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check.  DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications

To be considered, you must attach a customized job narrative letter of interest and resume; together should describe your education and experience in:

Limnology, aquatic science, Ecosystem ecology or related water resources field- including paid or unpaid experiences, courses taken, and degrees earned.

Environmental project planning and/or management

Preparing and communicating scientific information for management planning, policy reports, training programs and/or educational purposes for a scientifc or non-scientific audience

Team leadership and/or meeting facilitation.

Researching or writing policy, procedures, and/or legislation.
