EDUCATION:Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field preferred. Experience in science writing preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of four years writing experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) working in journalism, public relations or a position requiring strong written and verbal communications.
In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate:

* Ability to communicate scientific material to a variety of audiences in a concise, clear and accessible manner for use in press releases, a newsletter and web and social media content.
* Acuity with and management of social media channels.
* Organizational skills to lead the planning and execution of multiple projects, including collecting information for and writing for internal audiences such as funders.
* Attentiveness to detail and adherence to all deadlines.
* The ability to work productively and successfully with diverse people and groups.
WORK TYPE:Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Potential exists for one to two days per week remote, depending on University policy.
APPOINTMENT TYPE, DURATION:Ongoing/Renewable
SALARY:Minimum $42,600 ANNUAL (12 months)
