Job Description

Ramboll seeks a thought leader in Water, with a focus on the Emerging Contaminants market for Drinking Water, Wastewater Treatment, Biosolids and Landfill Leachate. This Ramboll subject matter expert will interface at all levels throughout the solution cycle, from mentoring and developing staff professionals to client interfaces with public and private directors or managers. You’ll have the chance to support complex projects within North America and beyond, providing local and global technical leadership. Working with our team, you’ll leverage your talents to find sustainable solutions to treatment challenges, make a difference in removing these contaminants from water, develop holistic treatment and disposal approaches, and provide the thought leadership to deliver “what’s next” for a sustainable world.  This is a Remote position for the right candidate.

As our new Emerging Contaminants in Water Practice Lead your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

·         Present visionary and influential views in Emerging Contaminants within our water practice both internally and to our clients to position Ramboll ahead of challenges being recognized in the marketplace.

·         Providing thought leadership and project consulting in the developing field of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), 1,4-Dioxane, and other emerging contaminants throughout the water cycle;

·         Collaborating with our subject matter experts in the areas of environment and health, to build a holistic practice for emerging contaminant solutions

·         Advancing the practice through technical ingenuity, innovation, and growing top line sales.

·         Develop a research and development strategy for collaborative studies with water/wastewater utilities, private sector, and universities as well as develop Ramboll’s existing laboratory capabilities to develop leading edge solutions in the PFAS and emerging contaminants space.

·         Embracing the continuous search and application of innovative technologies to advance solutions for our clients with challenging emerging contaminants and treatment problems. 

·         Have knowledge of groundwater and surface water systems related to emerging contaminant concerns and be positioned to collaborate with a multidisciplinary water and environment team.

·         Coordinate with client account managers to help innovate and differentiate our services offerings for PFAS and emerging contaminants.

·         Participate in working groups and professional societies to build on your existing leadership and advance the goals of Ramboll to be a leader in our emerging contaminant consultancy.

·         Grow our practice through retention, development and mentoring of staff and through organic hiring to ensure Ramboll has the best and brightest thought leaders.

·         Work with Water leadership to develop sales strategy as well as directly assist on procurements including project development, proposal writing, and level of effort estimating; and,

·         Maintaining a culture of engagement through communication among project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your leadership and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • BS or MS degree civil, environmental or chemical engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in water quality management, and water/wastewater treatment, with innovation elements.
  • Proven track record of successful client development and sales experience including preparing proposals and leading the delivery of work for PFAS and other emerging contaminants
  • An understanding of the evolving regulatory framework in North America
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills including experience with client interactions and relationship development 
  • Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative 
  • Results focused with the ability to meet commitments & deadlines
