Position Title: Communications and Advocacy Manager, USAID/ Improved Access to Safe Drinking Water in Liberia

Winrock is seeking candidates for a Communications and Advocacy Manager to prepare strategic communications materials and reports, and dissemination of advocacy strategy with stakeholders for the USAID Improved Access to Safe Drinking Water in Liberia Activity Link. The USAID/Liberia-funded Activity will strengthen water sector governance, create scalable models for equitable water service delivery, and mobilize collaborative action to improve access to clean water services. The purpose of the project is to move Liberians in Montserrado and Margibi counties to a basic level of water services.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare project factsheets and brochures and update as required.
- With technical team, develop knowledge sharing and learning dissemination messages to share with partners and stakeholders. Edit and review staff communications and reports as required.
- Prepare weekly updates for USAID. Solicit input for this update from the technical team and ensure timely delivery to USAID.
- Coordinate with partners and stakeholders on advocacy actions to targeted decision-makers.
- Oversee local partners to develop extension and outreach dissemination materials such as posters, radio scripts, and other media.
- Lead/facilitate the writing of quarterly and annual reports, fact sheets, success stories, press releases, web articles, and other communication materials and deliverables. Develop social media content/pieces for dissemination through Winrock and USAID channels.
- Liaise with the USAID/Liberia DOC officer to ensure project communications adhere to USAID requirements and acquire necessary USAID approvals for all external communications. Ensure all communications materials adhere to project Branding Strategy and Marking Plan.
- Ensure women and marginalized groups are beneficiaries of the project and considered when developing outreach and communication strategies and activities.
- Participate in regular field visits to document project activities and results, and train staff and partners. This includes developing a photo and video database to accompany articles and document project success.
- Coordinate and communicate on a regular basis with Winrock’s Home Office communications staff.
- Coordinate dissemination of advocacy strategy to relevant project stakeholders.
- Contribute to learning activities in support of the MEL and Technical teams.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: B.S. or equivalent university degree in Communications, Political Sciences, Governance, or related field.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in project communications / advocacy (USAID experience strongly preferred)
- Excellent computer software skills in MS Excel and Word
Language: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with fluency in English required
Salary: The annual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
