Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Institute (WASH Institute) established during the year 2008, is a registered non-profit government technical, training, research and development organization dedicated to providing practical solutions to tackle a wide range of water, sanitation and hygiene issues in India.

About the project:

The “Skill Development in Fecal Sludge and Septage Management in India (FSSM)”, project aims to increase the number of skilled professionals in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sector at state, city and town levels across India and enhance access to people in safely managed disposal services through FSSM. In order to achieve this, WASH Institute proposes conducting various capacity building trainings/certificate courses on FSSM across India through classroom training/online training.

The overall outcome of the Capacity Building program is envisaged to be that Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) will efficiently address Fecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) issues in their cities and will use data driven planning execution and management of WASH delivery through the creation of knowledge management database.

Name of the position: Deputy Project Director

No. of positions: 1

Duty Station: Program office, R.K.Puram, New Delhi. With around 5 -7 days of travel in a month to project locations across India.

Required Qualification:

• Master’s in sciences/Engineering/Management/Social work/Development
• At least 10 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years managing a team of no less than 5 persons.
• At least 5 years of experience in the role of operations or project manager
• Experience in capacity-building projects will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities:

The Deputy Project Director will hold the following roles and responsibilities (not limited to):

• Provides inspired leadership to the project team
• Oversee project operations management, ensuring that activities and events are delivered per defined quality and timelines.
• Identifying operational bottlenecks and developing solutions to streamline internal processes.
• Generate periodic donor reports
• Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing
• Human resource management of the project team, including planning for continuous professional development of team towards role fit.
• Assist and guide the team with external stakeholder coordination and communication
• Ensure all internal statutory compliance by the project team
• Support the team in building external alliances/potential partners who can assist in reaching project goals.

Languages:
Excellent speaking, reading and writing skills in English required.

Salary Package:

Salary Range (CTC) – 12 – 14 Lakhs per annum

The Annual Salary (CTC) will be commensurate with previous pay, skill set and fitment as per the selection process.
