POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is a member of Project Team 1 in the Project Design and Delivery (PDD) branch of the department.We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team to advance our mission of protecting life, property, and the environment from the effects of flooding, erosion, and water pollution. The work of this design team includes sponsoring large Capital Improvement Program projects and smaller in-house projects to reduce risk of flooding and erosion, and protect water quality in our creeks, with a focus on localized flooding and improvements to storm drain systems.This position is responsible for performing feasibility studies to assess potential solutions to drainage issues, identifying and implementing small scale mitigation solutions, develop Hydrologic and Hydraulic models, conducting technical reviews, and assisting other engineering staff with the final design and construction phases of Capital Improvement Program (CIPs) projects and in-house projects. This position may also assist with efforts to identify and prioritize potential projects and activities for the division.PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
The Graduate Engineer B level requires a State of Texas Engineer-in-Training Certification.

Preferred QualificationsPreferred Experience:Knowledge of municipal regulatory drainage code and criteria such as the City of Austin’s Drainage Criteria Manual.Demonstrate knowledge and experience of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis including 1D and 2D modeling of primarily storm drain systems and open channels, including experience and proficiency with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software such as StormCAD, CivilStorms, ICM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.Experience working with field/construction crews.Experience in design and management of drainage infrastructure projects.Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.Ability to travel to more than one work location.
