Senior ICM Modeller

Why Arup?

Are you passionate about building a more sustainable future? At Arup we work to find solutions for some of the world’s most complex problems – providing expertise across all areas of the built environment from strategic approach and planning to design and engineering.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a senior ICM hydraulic modeller, covering both stormwater and wastewater networks, to enhance our team. We are looking for a colleague who is passionate about rivers and the whole environment from source to sea, from mountain to city. We specialise in delivering innovative solutions on both a local and catchment scale, founded on nature-based systems and novel, low carbon technology.

You will be joining a technical delivery team working on a wide variety of projects of global and national importance.  These include wastewater and stormwater catchment studies (including WINEP/NEP and SOAF), nature-based regenerative solutions of all kinds, flood risk and river health analysis, civil structures, wastewater and stormwater treatment, and environmental flood mitigation projects across our client frameworks. As an experienced hydraulic modelling specialist with curiosity, personal drive and technical know-how, you’ll be as inspired as we are by the challenges and opportunities we face. You’ll be solving and excited to be part of the team delivering the solutions.  Experience in the water and environment sector is preferred.

Is the role right for you?

Manage hydraulic modelling activities across multiple projects to meet current and future demands.  You will also provide strategies and develop survey scopes to drive design efficiencies across the projects. You will develop assessments for improving and enhancing models. In addition, you will evaluate network performance to identify existing risks and deliver solutions to create a robust network while identifying root causes and mechanisms of network issues. Furthermore, you will have a personable approach to building and managing effective stakeholder relationships. We are looking for the following skills below:

  • Hydraulic modelling of wastewater networks using Innovyze ICM modelling suite
  • Experience delivering flooding assessments across waste water and storm water networks
  • Deep technical skills in data analytics, assessing monitor data, and catchment modelling with experience delivering nature-based solutions
  • An appropriate Masters degree, equivalent experience and professional registration.
