You will be part of a team developing and applying water balance tools across the Queensland Murray Darling Basin. The role will support the integration of water balance models to meet our emerging water resource management and compliance needs.

Working from within the Water Systems and Hydrometric Operations team, you will be a member of a diverse team that’s driving transparent and sustainable rural water management and addressing Queensland’s greatest challenge of a reliable and sustainable future for our water resources. This is a rare opportunity to be involved intransformational change that will underpin how rural water resources are accessed, used and managed by Government, water users and the community into the future. About the Graduate Excellence Program

The Graduate Excellence Program is a structured leadership development program that offers challenging and rewarding opportunities with real responsibility and accountability. The Graduate Excellence Program is a structured leadership development program that offers challenging and rewarding opportunities with real responsibility and accountability. It includes a mix of on-the-job experience and formal training workshops to complement and expand on what you are learning in your daily work and assist you in your transition from study to full-time employment. In addition to the formal learning and development, you will receive coaching and mentoring from a robust support network of leaders and graduate alumni. The Graduate Excellence Program is a 12-month program with a likelihood of conversion to permanent after successful completion of probation and demonstrated capability in your graduate role.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

• Operate in a fast paced, virtual team environment delivering multiple projects concurrently

• Use technical knowledge to ensure completion of projects, tasks and advice within time, cost and other project targets

• Undertake activities to interpret, extract meaning and assist with the management of spatial, time-series and water entitlement data

• Assist in developing solutions to complex technical issues through consideration of options including latest technologies and innovations in water balance measurement and estimation.

• Assist in assessment of technical solutions and in preparing reports on nrecommended solutions to project delivery activities

• Support DRDMW investigations teams through the application of water balance models across a range of geographic scales to report improvements around water management

• Other duties as directed and required to support the Enhanced Measurement and Rural Water Future program needs.
