The Science Capacity Building Program Project Coordinator will work as part of a team within the Global Science Business Unit providing a broad range of support to the Science Capacity Building Team. The Science Capacity Building Program consists of trainings, mentoring, peer-review services, communities of practice, knowledge management, curating the One Conservancy science survey, and science flagship events. 

This is a fully remote position. The position requires travel and working flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain. The Project Coordinator reports to the Science Capacity Building Program Manager.

As a Project Coordinator for the Science Capacity Building Team, you will contribute to the team’s success by:

•    Enhancing the work of the team through various activities, including, but not limited to, developing documentation, providing recommendations and targeted training related to the functional area of the team, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. 
•    Working towards meeting the team’s strategic priorities by developing and implementing tactics for approved plans and completing and organizing multiple tasks and activities. 
•    Communicating with staff in various programs across the Conservancy, as well as consultants, trainers, vendors, and partners.
•    Management of procurement, facilities, vendor engagement, meeting management, special events, trainings, and team support in other tasks as needed. 
•    Creating program materials and perform analysis and research related to program activities. 
•    Keeping up to date on market trends and best practices to improve services.
•    Supporting the annual science survey and science database-related activities.
•    Maintaining, tracking, and reporting on key data related to the scope and priorities of the functional activity. 
•    Completing activities with multiple variables, setting realistic deadlines, and managing the timeline. 
•    Providing guidance in satisfying requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

•    Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
•    Experience generating reports and analyzing and interpreting data.
•    Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.
•    Experience with business process analysis and/or improvement.
•    Experience with current technology in relevant field.
•    Experience working with cross-functional teams.
•    Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    Multilingual skills and multicultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.
•    Ability to implement complex processes.
•    Exceptional communication, coordination and collaboration skills and experience designing, organizing, and directing complex projects.
•    Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.
•    Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate staff.
•    Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
•    Knowledge of current trends in the specific field.
•    Strong organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
•    Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.
•    Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, Smartsheet, and/or other apps.
