Plan International is looking for a Head of Green Solutions who will define and implement the international cooperation and development strategy, based on the “Green Solutions’ work model. The job will include the raising of institutional funds (Spanish cooperation, European Funds (DEVCO) and multilateral agencies), in order to achieve the intended operational and income generation goals, according to the guidelines of the International Cooperation and HA Director and the NO Director.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. To elaborate, along with the International Cooperation and HA Director, the strategic, operational and budgetary planning, providing sectorial criteria and geographical perspective approach.

  2. To look for and identify the market opportunities for public/private funding, emphasizing in the access and diversification of financial instruments, for the development of Green Solutions Programs (Clean Energy/Climate change/ Innovation/ Productive activities with youth) and to place Plan International Spain in this expertise niche within the framework of Plan International.

  3. To maintain and grow up, the International Cooperation and HA Director Agenda with public and private stakeholders of Plan International Spain, in order to increase notoriety and visibility at an institutional level, both national and, mainly, international.

  4. To establish, along with the International Cooperation and HA Director, relations with any organization and networks/ platforms of NGOs or other stakeholders, to increase Plan International Spain brand knowledge in all of the relevant discussion forums in the program countries, particularly, in all these where application of Green Solutions is in place

  5. To provide support and contribute with the rest of Plan International Spain departments, including technical advice during implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programs, when appropriate.

  6. To build relationships with other Plan International Country and Regional Offices to provide Plan International with the suitable strategy in terms of development programs.

  7. To supervise and coordinate the activity of the team under his/her responsibility.

  8. To identify, along with the International Cooperation and HA Director and the Human Resources Director the required personnel resources (staff and professional services) in terms of number and profile to properly develop the strategy.

  9. Participate in forums and working groups from the third sector both intern and extern, which belong to those areas for which they are responsible.

  10. Coordination with the International Headquarters

Job requirements:

· 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position;

· Expertise in Green Solutions (clean energies, climate change, productive activities);

· Work experience in Head Offices and field work;

· Work experience with multilateral (WFP, ECHO, UN Agencies, Europaid (EU),)

· English indispensable, French desirable.

Other conditions

· Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% internationally, sometimes with short notice, and periods up to six months of continuous stay in field work
