Job Description:
The Project Officer, Sustainability and Climate Change is responsible for coordinating, implementing, advising on, and reporting targeted emission reduction and water management improvement project activities. The objective of these projects is to improve the environmental performance of the department, reduce operational expenditure for schools and preschools and achieve the government’s targets.
The Project Officer will be required to engage extensively with other government agencies to ensure the department is providing effective support to schools and preschools by aligning with government policy.
Qualifications:
Desirable: Tertiary or post-secondary qualifications in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Management, Energy Management, sustainability, or a related discipline.
Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:
ASO4: $74,315 – $77,901
