Research assistantship is available for a Ph.D. student interested to work in the area of hydrological modeling, nutrient management, and fate and transport of pollutants in agricultural watersheds. A strong background/interest in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: soil and water engineering, ArcGIS, computer programming, HYDRUS-1D modeling, chemical analysis of water and soil samples. Starting date is Spring 2023. The research assistantship will include tuition waiver and a competitive stipend.
Responsibilities: The graduate assistant will participate in field data collection, laboratory studies and water quality modeling. The graduate assistant will be expected to conduct original research, present research results at various conferences, and publish peer-reviewed journal articles. In addition, graduate assistant will be expected to participate in other instruction and outreach efforts in the department, including assistance with teaching activities.
Qualifications: Minimum qualification for the Ph.D. level assistantship include earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from accredited institutions in Biosystems, Biological, or Agricultural Engineering or closely related engineering field by the position start date.
