Job Title: Climate and Sustainability (C&S) Program Leader
Geography: Delhi or MP (Bhopal and/or Sehore) – can evolve over the year
Reporting To : Program Manager
Team : 2-4 (Gandhi Fellows)
We are looking for a self motivated, high energy and a quick learner who is open to work in highly ambiguous environment and demonstrate extraordinary rigor in completing the assignments/ projects related to climate and sustainability.
The areas of interventions may include water conservation, grey water management, fecal waste management, Agri water efficiency , non-biodegradable waste management etc.
This role gives the opportunity to lead and develop a small group of Gandhi Fellows and exposure to work with the district, state, and national level government departments under the ministry of Jal Shakti, Agriculture, Rural Development, Earth sciences, and village communities to solve complex challenges of climate and sustainability in a cohesive manner.
Work Profile:
Execute Initiatives:
• Develop, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures for the Climate and Sustainability in state
• Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of program activities running in the state/district/block
• Organize and co-Facilitate capacity-building sessions for govt officials and village communities on various allied topics
Capacity Building:
• Create Awareness about the state C&S mission through group meetings with Gandhi Fellows
• Conduct reflective debrief sessions with Gandhi Fellows and support them with a clear action plan for their pursual
• Utilize technology & and develop e-learning content to continually learn and innovate, share knowledge with peers, and Gandhi fellows and enhance service delivery
Enable Stakeholders:
• Collect insights from the field through regular field visits and provide inputs to government bodies, design solutions to address existing gaps in the C&S field
• Ensure adoption of tools and formats to ensure excellence, drive initiatives and shared meaning across the respective district/s
• Support line lead on timely Approval of Budget, guidelines, SOPs etc. from Govt. for Project Initiatives
To qualify for the role, you must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in subjects like Environmental Sciences, climate Management, water management, Forest Management, Agroforestry/ Farm Forestry, Ecology, Botany, etc.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the development sector: preferably in water, rural development or education
• Developed or implemented projects related to water management, grey water management, plastic recycling, etc will be added advantage
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (In English and Hindi)
• Excellent MS office Competency (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
• Ready to travel 25 to 50% of the time across field locations and offices of STP PU
