For the Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics of the Hamburg University of Technology for the earliest possible date, we are looking for a:



part time (50%) for a maximum of one year. The remuneration is in accordance with TV-L 13  .

The Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics focuses on creating new knowledge through research and innovation, developing new measurement tools and predictive capabilities to provide accurate understanding of transport processes occurring near Earth’s surface. Within this context, this 1-year-project will focus on a new approach to reduce fertilizer application in soil using foam as a vehicle for fertilizer delivery thus contributing to topics such as sustainability, environmental and soil health.


  • Conduct research focused on sustainable fertilizer application and soil health
  • Perform relevant laboratory and field experiments combined with theoretical analysis
  • Publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific conferences
  • Helping with any other research activities as may be deemed necessary by the Head of the Institute
  • Visiting other universities and institutes for research collaboration if necessary


  • Completed at least an MSc degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, hydrology, geoscience, soil sciences or related disciplines
  • Excellent academic results and recognitions
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral/written)
  • Strong interest, motivation and commitment to research
  • Previous research experience in the context of soil-water-food nexus and environmental processes will be an advantage
  • German knowledge (oral/written) will be an advantage
