What You Will Do

The Computational Earth Science Group (EES-16) within the Earth and Environmental Sciences Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking outstanding post-doctoral candidates for an opening in computational subsurface hydrology. The position will focus on reactive transport modeling in fracture network models to better understand subsurface systems including the long-term disposal of spent nuclear fuel and reservoir management. The successful applicant will have a background in subsurface flow and reactive transport simulations with expertise in some or all of the following: (i) reactive transport modeling, (ii) fluid flow fracture/matrix interactions and/or (iii) multiphase flow simulations. This position will require motivation to achieve in an independent work environment and the communication skills to interact with a multidisciplinary, integrated team.

The successful applicant will be expected to publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present their work at national and international conferences. Los Alamos National Laboratory solves problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns, and enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile.
