Senior Programme Manager for School of Water and Waste
About the team:
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), is an established non-profit institution known for its rigorous and scientific policy research and advocacy on environmental issues. The centre is looking for suitable candidates to work for its Urban Water Waste Programme. The programme aims to establish policy principles, innovative technologies and implementation strategies for water and wastewater management – these efforts have been directed towards meeting the twin goals of laying foundation for water prudent society and adapting for climate resilience.
Water programme through the School of Water and Waste, a key constituent of CSE’s Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute (AAETI) aims to establish policy principles, build capacity of practitioners for designing and implementing innovative strategies for sustainable and affordable citywide water and sanitation for all. The School is a capacity building hub for water and sanitation across India and global south with instituted collaborations and MoUs with government and other knowledge partners.
This is a mid-level, high-visibility and high-impact position reporting to Senior Director that entails high-quality applied research, development of teach – learning material and coordinating capacity development activities – online courses and short training programmes.
Qualification and Experience:
We need preferably Engineers, Planners/Architects or Post graduate in Environment/ Wastewater Engineering or related field with at least 12-15 years of work experience. Candidates having PhD and relevant experience in developing and coordinating short professional development training programmes related to water, sanitation and faecal sludge management will be preferred.
Candidate should have experience of applied research, advocacy and on-site field support. He/she should also have a good working understanding of other organization groups, and individuals in the water and sanitation sector including government policies / reforms in urban and rural water sector.
The candidate should be able to work in a tight-knit and dynamic team that works on wide range of issues related to urban and rural water management. He/she should have strong networking and liaisoning skills, willingness to travel and fluency in written and spoken English/Hindi.
