An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Policy Officer to join the Resilient Cities and Towns team within DELWP, working with the Waterways of the West Ministerial Advisory Committee, Traditional Owners, community and industry to ensure iconic waterways in Melbourne's West are protected for generations to come.

As the Senior Policy Officer, you will develop and advocate policy options relating to the health of the waterways of the west and associated parklands. You will also initiate and maintain strong relationships and networks to enable staff to work collaboratively across Water and Catchments Group, DELWP, and with other government agencies and stakeholders. This position is responsible for overseeing waterway and environmental health programs and diversified water use. It encompasses integrated catchment management and is focused on delivering policy and strategy with a forward-looking focus relating to our environmental programs and for urban water policy.

You will have a demonstrated track record of stakeholder engagement and relationship management, policy development, and delivering projects on time, within budget and to a high standard. A strong understanding of, and previous experience in, the water sector would be desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months.
