About the Position

FiscalNote Europe is looking for a Junior Policy Analyst to join its office in Brussels. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on EU policy in the area of environmental policy to ensure that our clients are up to date with the latest developments. With this portfolio you will be working on key strategic environment files including the EAP and Circular Economy. This includes policy on waste and recycling, air and water quality, environmental noise and forestry. It also includes regulatory focus on eco-labelling, ecodesign and GPP. As an Policy Analyst, you will also gain further experience in understanding EU procedures and environmental issues at a more in-depth level. We will also provide you with continuous training and support to develop your skills and understanding of EU affairs.

What to Expect in this Position:

  • Carry out EU regulatory monitoring tasks in the area of EU environment policy
  • Learn how to harness technology to improve intelligence gathering
  • Gain in-depth knowledge about the EU environment legislation and policy and specific EU procedures
  • Deliver accurate and clear analysis to our clients
  • Provide input to Business Development Team and participate in internal projects
  • Working both independently and in a small team

What Sets You Apart:

  • Master’s in EU Law or EU Affairs/Politics
  • Good understanding of EU legislative procedures and regulatory processes
  • Knowledge of EU politics and policymaking
  • Ability to write policy briefings, flash reports, and long-form analysis to a consistently high standard
  • Experience working in EU public or regulatory affairs is an advantage
  • Knowledge/experience in the area of EU environment policy is an advantage
  • Native or equivalent written and spoken English, plus other EU languages
  • Enjoy being part of a young, fast-paced, and dynamic team
