The College of Natural Resources at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in a wide variety of disciplines. At CNR, we study natural and human systems from biological, ecological, economic, and social science perspectives. With more than 120 faculty and approximately 1,800 undergraduate and 300 graduate students, we engage the issues that shape the complex, interconnected world of the 21st century, from sustainable food systems to obesity, from water policy to energy policy, and from the far- reaching impacts of climate change to the linkages between the human genome, diet, and disease. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the college. Appointments are part-time and may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance. Applications will be accepted and reviewed for department needs,
through November 16, 2017. We typically review applications for fall course needs in April and May, and in October and November for spring course needs. If you wish to remain in the pool after November 16, 2017 you will need to reapply.
General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.
Basic Qualifications: A PhD, a Master’s, or equivalent degree in an area related to Natural Resources is required by the time of application.
