Title: Youth Programs Director

Status: Part-time (with potential for full-time) in Seattle

Summary:  This position supports the mission of Water1st through leadership and expansion of all Water1st youth programs: middle school and high school boards, Global Fellows Program, and school club programs.

Responsibilities include:

Youth board program
This program educates students on the impact and challenges of the global water crisis and empowers students to use their talents and networks to further the work of Water1st. Students meet regularly though the academic year and volunteer at Water1st events. The program year culminates with Youth Board member support and participation in our annual May fundraising event, Carry5.

Global Fellows program
A more intensive program offering the opportunity to travel and experience our project communities first-hand.  High school board members must apply and commit to participating in more in-depth education and training.  Historically, travel occurs during the third week in February when most students have time off for President’s Day or a mid-winter break.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a leadership capacity
  • Ability to motivate, energize and empower young people
  • Resourceful and able to problem solve
  • Highly collaborative and resourceful
  • Confidence speaking to groups
  • Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends and pitch-in to support our fundraising efforts when needed
  • Ability to travel internationally as a youth leader and representative of Water1st

Spanish or Bengali language skills are a plus.

The selected candidate will be required to undergo a full background check.
