OFFER DESCRIPTION
The project will focus on the sustainable management of agricultural water resources, concentrating on the irrigational use to mitigate negative effects of climate change, but also on the reuse of non-conventional water resources and on the protection of water ecosystems. Nature-based solutions, having low operational and maintenance costs, are especially suitable for the use in the agricultural sector, both on farm and district scale, and can contribute to water supply (retention and storage of water) and to sustainable treatment of polluted waters. In particular, the project will focus on: 1) hydraulic and hydrologic behaviour of constructed wetlands; 2) assessment of capacity to store water resources and regulate water flows; 3) optimisation of the natural systems for treatment of polluted waters; 4) recovery of nutrients and water resources; 5) combination of nature-based and intensive solutions in order to improve their treatment performances.
