Uptime Global
Partnership Coordinator | UK-based | Full-time
I. What is Uptime?
Uptime Global is a new non-profit social enterprise working to provide safe and resilient rural water services for 100 million people by 2030. Our mission is to link smart subsidies with resilient water services through results-based contracts and verifiable data. We work with governments, service providers and funders to develop and deliver results-based contracts that sustainably fund rural water services at scale.
Uptime Global is the next step in the transition from design and testing work in seven countries in Africa through the Uptime Catalyst Facility (UCF). After launch in 2018, Uptime partners designed and tested a common data reporting structure to develop a results-based funding contract design. In 2021, the Uptime Catalyst Facility was established as a pilot funding mechanism, and today enables services for c. 1.5 million rural people in 7 African countries where users pay a share of service costs.
Building on the success of the UCF pilot, we are ready to take these innovations to scale. We have ambitious goals over the next two years and beyond, and we seek talented and passionate people to help build an amazing and mission-driven organisation that can deliver.
Over the next two years we will:
a. Scope results-based contracts serving c. 5 million people;
b. Launch active results-based contracts serving c. 3 million people; and
c. Deliver at least one project involving government and public financing with potential for replication at scale.
