This position is a 100% research, 12-month, non-tenure appointment with Mississippi State University located in the Water Resource Center at the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, MS with an academic affiliation with the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Mississippi State University. The incumbent will pursue an innovative and comprehensive program in irrigation engineering with research objectives considering both scientific merit and practical needs of Mississippi producers. The function of the position will be to develop, coordinate, secure funding, and implement research programs pertaining to irrigation of agronomic crops in the Mississippi Delta. Expertise is desired in irrigated row crop practices, design, and pump and groundwater yield. The incumbent will demonstrate an ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and have excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Earned Ph.D. or doctorate in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other appropriate engineering discipline. Individuals who are ABD (all but dissertation) will be considered.
