Then a role in our team might be just what you are looking for. The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is the primary environmental regulator for the ACT. In this role you will learn about the risk/harm principle of regulation which helps to protect our environment. You will review applications, undertake inspections and compliance activities and make recommendations relating to applications for approvals and licenses. The EPA is responsible for a range of environment protection issues including air and water quality, hazardous materials, contaminated sites and environmental noise. We administer the Environment Protection Act 1997, Water Resources Act 2004, Clinical Waste Act 1990 and Lakes Act 1970. Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of up to less than 12 months and/or permanency. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW) in 2020. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
