Job description  

This is a truly integrated role in IEP. You will work closely with the water company to ensure delivery of schemes through the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP). This will include seeing the Pont project through to completion and working with the water company on reservoir flow trails and protecting water supply.

You will work closely with our Environment Programme team to develop the Water Resources programme of projects at Area
You will lead on Drinking Water Protected Areas and Shellfish water action plans
You will lead on developing Natural Capital Plans. You will work with national colleagues to understand the outcomes of pilots and develop the NCP for the Area
IEP have some significant work areas including,
• River Basin Management Plan 3
• Delivering PR19 and developing PR24
• Local Monitoring Commission
• New Authorisations
• Abstraction Reform

Depending on your background and experience, you may be involved in supporting delivery of these work areas

The team  

The Integrated Environment Planning Team are a multi-functional team that work across are teams to ensure that the work we do is delivered in an integrated way and that we embrace catchment leadership as an area. The work areas we cover are – Water Resources, Water Quality, Regulated Industry, Catchment Planning and WFD.

Experience/skills required  

You will be educated to degree level in an appropriate subject or have the relevant experience for the role

You will need to have a good understanding of the water environment, ideally you will have evidence of working in this area. You will be working with customers both internal and external. You will need excellent customer service skills, be able to solve problems quickly and demonstrate strong communication skills
