Environmental monitoring is crucial for preventing and managing natural disasters and it will become increasingly important in light of climate and socio-economic changes. In this context, the study and the testing of geomatic technologies are able to model the physical elements of the earth's surface, their dynamics and the causes of their modifications, as well as being of fundamental importance for visualizing and communicating in real time risk situation

Eligibility criteria

Applicants are Italian and foreign in possession of scientific and professional curriculum suitable for conducting the research activities related to the invitation and:
- Master Degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent on the basis of Italian low;
- PhD in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring or equivalent on the basis of Italian low.

The PhD will be considered a mandatory requirement.
Candidates must be proficient in English language. Foreign candidates must have good knowledge of Italian language.

Selection process

The selection criteria concerns the suitability of scientific and professional curriculum of the candidates regarding the research activities. In addition, the interview will focus on issues related to GIS and the use of geomatic techniques for environmental modelling, flood risk assessment and management. The knowledge of English and/or Italian language will be verified during the colloquium.
