Two positions are currently available: one full time permanent position and one 12 month temporary position, which may be extended and/or become a permanent placement.
These positions are located in Victoria, BC.

The Climate Action Secretariat [CAS] is the central government agency responsible for leading and coordinating research, analysis, development and implementation of programs, policies and legislation enabling mitigation of and adaptation to climate change. CAS works collaboratively across the provincial public sector, other orders of government, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, and professional and industry associations to achieve provincial climate change goals. The Clean Government team within CAS is responsible for the development of climate policy and programs for the BC Public Sector and the administration of the Carbon Neutral Government program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in economics, mathematics, business administration, international relations, public administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
  • Experience managing projects and/or project components.
  • Preference for experience/proficiency with the analysis of datasets using both basic [e.g., Excel] and more sophisticated business intelligence tools [e.g. pivot tables, Power Pivot].
  • Preference for knowledge on and/or experience with: how energy and greenhouse gas emissions are calculated and accounted for; the science of climate change; the interplay of the environment and the economy; and sustainable development.
