The Greater London Authority is London’s regional government. It supports the Mayor of London in delivering their programmes and priorities and is overseen by the London Assembly. Climate change and the environment have been central to City Hall’s work and London has consistently demonstrated strong national and international leadership.
Formed in 2001, the London Climate Change Partnership (LLCP) is the centre for expertise on climate change adaptation and resilience to extreme weather in London and is hosted by the GLA. It is comprised of public, private, and community sector organisations with a shared vision to make London the most climate-resilient global city.
The GLA Environment and Energy Unit is recruiting a London Climate Change Partnership Manager based in the Unit’s Climate Change team. The role will combine coordinating Partnership activities, with delivering climate adaptation policy and programmes as an officer in the climate change team.
As LCCP Manager you will organise meetings and events, manage projects, and coordinate knowledge exchange to support partners in understanding and responding to the impacts of climate change. You will work closely with the LCCP Chair to engage a range of cross-sector stakeholders and provide leadership in climate change adaptation action. You will coordinate partnership responses and input into strategies, plans, and projects aimed at furthering adaptation in London.
As a member of the GLA Climate Change team, you will support the ongoing implementation of climate adaptation policies and proposals in the Mayor’s London Environment Strategy and delivery of Green New Deal programmes. This will include shaping policies and implementing projects to reduce the risks and impacts of heat risk, flooding, and water scarcity. The role will work closely with GLA teams including Planning, Infrastructure and Resilience, as well as with external partners leading the way in climate adaptation.
This role will be based at London Fire Brigade’s Head Office (Union Street SE1 0LL). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
